What is My Jooners?
My Jooners is your 'inbox' of activities, events and lists. It is a handy all-in-one place to keep track of what needs your attention and what sign-ups or tasks you've agreed to do. It is also the place that any lists you create will be saved. As you create sign-up sheets with Jooners online organizers, these will be saved here. You can click them to check on the status of who's signed up for what, to edit and resend them in the case changes are needed, and to copy them and modify them for a future event (i.e. next year's book fair) so you don't have to start from scratch.
How are event invitations handled in My Jooners?
When you are invited to an event through Jooners, you will be sent an email invitation and the invitation will also appear in your My Jooners with the status of 'Needs Your RSVP'. You may choose to RSVP by clicking on the invitation in your em>My Jooners inbox or from the email invitation. Either way you will be taken to the RSVP page where you can respond. In either case, after you have RSVP'd the status of the event will change to 'Responded' in My Jooners. The event will be auto-entered into your Jooners' calendar, and you may access the details of the event either from this calendar event or from the invitation that's in your My Jooners inbox.
How are my Jooners' Online Organizer Sign-Up Sheets treated in My Jooners?
As an organizer, when you create a sign-up sheet with one of Jooners' Online Organizers, it will be saved to your My Jooners inbox. By clicking on this Sign-Up Sheet you will have the option of doing three things. First, you may view who's signed up for what! The names of volunteers or participants and any information they have provided on the Sign-Up Sheet will be viewable. Second, you have the opportunity of editing the Sign-Up Sheet and/or sending it to the same or more people. Thirdly, you may create a copy of the Sign-Up Sheet to use again. When you create a copy, all of the items that were in the original Sheet are saved. That way, you would not need to create the jobs or items needed from one year's carnival to the next. You would only need to make alterations to reflect the differences for the needs of the next activity.
As a recipient of a Sign-Up Request from another Jooners member, you will receive an email with the request, and it will also appear in your My Jooners inbox with a status of 'Needs Your Help'. You may choose to respond by clicking on the Sign-Up Request in your em>My Jooners inbox or from the email request. Either way, you will be taken to the Sign-Up page where you can respond. After you have responded, the status of the Sign-Up will change to 'Responded' in My Jooners. What you have signed-up for (e.g. bring cupcakes, drive in a carpool, etc.) will be auto-entered into your Jooners' calendar. You may access the details of who else is doing what by clicking on the Sign-up item in your My Jooners inbox. It will by dynamically updated in real time as people sign-up.
How do I create a Sign-Up Sheet and send it out in Jooners?
To create a sign-up sheet, first select from one of the pre-designed Click & Go Sign-Up Sheets located on HOME. Jooners will be creating new Sign-Up Sheets all the time, so if you don't see what you need now, please send us an email at feedback@jooners.com and let us know what you'd like. The more details and example files, the better our design will be! When you click on one of the Click & Go icons, you will initiate a Sign-Up Sheet and be take to Step 1 in an easy three step guided process. Step one is the place where you give your Sign-Up Sheet a name, a date (if applicable) and enter items you need, dates for participants (as in the Snack Duty or Carpool Sign-Up Sheets), and any instructions you would like recipients to read as they are really thinking through the request. Information you might put in the instructions might be quantities of food you need, requirements about allergies, time when people should show-up, etc.).
In Step 2, you will be given a chance to review your inputs and then pre-assign people to dates or items, including yourself! For example, if Linus always plays the piano at your holiday potluck, you could pre-assign him this task so that no one else will take it! You may want to take a date or an item first, before sending the list out to others. In these cases, click on any Volunteer field. A dialog box will appear and you can select yourself, or anyone you have entered into My People. Remember, you can save a Sign-Up Sheet at any time if you are not ready to send it out yet. Just click the Save Draft button in the lower left hand side of the page. The item will appear in your My Jooners inbox.
In Step 3, you will enter details that will go on the email sent to people you hope will participate or volunteer on your Sign-Up Sheet. In the To: field, you may hand enter emails separated by commas or, more conveniently, click the Address Book icon, and select individuals or groups from your My People contact list. You may also do a combination of both! Then you may optionally create a new Subject and or Message for the email. Click Send to email your prospective participants. They will receive an email with our default, or your customized message, with a link to 'Review and Sign-Up'. Upon clicking this link, they will be taken to a Sign-Up page where they will see who has already signed-up for what. They will not be able to take a date or item that someone else has signed up for. As they sign-up the list will be instantly updated and the originator's view of who's doing what is updated, as well as anyone visiting this Sign-Up page subsequently.
What do I do if I need to change something about a Sign-Up Sheet I've created?
Managing the frequent changes that happen in an active family's life is one of the things Jooners' does well! As an organizer, if you need to make a change to a Sign-Up Request (such a change of date, adding items or sending out the request to more people), click on this item in your My Jooners inbox. You will see the option in the lower left hand corner to Edit and Resend. Click this button and the Sign-Up Sheet will appear in Step One of the guided steps, where you can edit anything on the Sign-Up Sheet and in Step Three, have the option to send it again or to even more people. You will have the option of saving the Sign-Up Sheet before you send it, in the case that you need to wait for more information to complete it. If you choose to edit it and resend it right away, the new version of the Sign-Up Sheet will be saved and will replace the item you had previously in your My Jooners inbox.
What if I want to reuse a Sign-Up Sheet for a new activity?
In the case that you'd like to create a copy of a Sign-Up sheet that already exists, click on the Sign-Up Sheet from your My Jooners inbox. You will see a button on the lower left side of Step 1 to Copy to a new Sign-Up. Click this button. You will be taken to Step 1 in the guided process of creating this Sign-Up Sheet. All of the details of the previous Sign-Up Sheet will be saved. You will need to rename this Sign-Up Sheet and it will be saved under this new name.
How do I delete an item from My Jooners?
To delete an item from My Jooners, click on the round grey icon with an X in it that is to the right of the item. It will turn red when you mouse-over it.
How do I use the weekly calendar on the left side of the Home page?
The weekly calendar defaults to show your current week of activities. All of the events and sign-ups that are in your main calendar in the CALENDAR tab are also shown here for your convenience. You may 'drive' the weekly calendar with the small monthly mini-calendar above it. That is, when you click on a date on the mini-calendar, the weekly calendar will turn to that date. Using the mini-calendar in this way, you can look months ahead if you like to see what's on your calendar. For more intensive scheduling, it might be best to go to the CALENDAR tab. By clicking on the Add Event icon just under the mini-calendar, you may add an item to the calendar. Any item you add will also be added to your main calendar in the CALENDAR tab.
