Holiday Food Drive - Weekly Volunteer Sign-Ups
America's Second Harvest's Hunger in America Study found that over 25 million people in the U.S. visit a food pantry, soup kitchen or food assistance program. Hunger is a phenomenon that afflicts people without regard for age, ethnicity, gender, family size and employment status. You or your group can become a partner in the fight against hunger by running a local food and monetary donation drive. The food and money you raise can be contributed to a major food drive in your city or directly to an organization that feeds those in need. This planner helps you sign-up volunteers to sort and distribute the food and to raise money to donate.

Whether you're celebrating the most important holiday in the Christian church on Easter Sunday or celebrating spring and new beginnings the day is well spent rejoicing spring's new beginnings and a meal shared with friends. Over the years we have found that friends enjoy sharing a dish of their own if you supply the venue for Easter Brunch. See this sign-up sheet for ideas on what's needed for a lovely brunch and a suggested menu. Guests can choose from the enclosed menu or create a dish of their own. Believe it or not when we at Jooners have hosted this type of party over the years, quiche and frittata dishes have been the most popular. There is dispute over whether his claim to fame is based in fact or legend. Whether fact or fiction, all children have fun celebrating the day with a St. Patrick's Day classroom party or a St. Patrick's Day family party. Thanksgiving Dinner Potluck
The first Thanksgiving feast was celebrated in 1621 by the pilgrims of the Plymouth colony along with about 90 Wampanoag Indians. The Pilgrims had suffered through a devastating winter and without the help of the Indians, all would have perished. The Thanksgiving feast was to show deep gratitude for the generosity and kindness the Indians displayed. This Thanksgiving gather your family & friends and share this special meal - giving everyone a part to play. Create or revive traditions that make the celebration meaningful. In our family we each reflect on what we've been most thankful for during the past year.
