Welcome to Jooners!
In a few easy steps, you will be on your way to life that hums….
Opening a Account
- Go to www.jooners.com
- Click the
Button.
- Fill out the information, read the terms and conditions, check
and hit the
button. Congratulations! You know have an active Jooners account!
My People
The first step in getting your Jooners account up and running is to add people to your contact list.
There are 2 ways to do this:
- Add a person
Click on My People and select
Add person. Simply fill out the relevant information to create a new contact. Be sure to click
and your contact will be added.
- Import Contacts
If you have list of contacts, you can import your current contacts into Jooners. Click on My People and select Import Contacts. There are detailed instructions of how to import from
different formats.
- Make a Group
Click on My Groups and select Add Group. Name your group (for example, Smith’s 1st grade Class or Stinging Bees Soccer Team). Simply add people to this group by selecting their name in the left box and clicking “Add”. You should see the names filling in under the right box which is your new group. You can also remove people from your group by selecting the name and clicking remove. Please note that you must have people entered into your master MY People list in order to add people to a group.
- Add a Resource
You add a resource just like you add a person. Click on My Resources and select Add resource. Fill out the relevant information. If you want to share your trusted resource with the Jooners’ Community, click
. This publishes your resource in the My Resources section.
Calendar
Creating calendars is easy and will help you get all the information that you need in one spot.
- Create a Private Calendar
Click on the plus sign
next to Calendars on the left-hand side of the page. Name your calendar and pick a color. Keep the calendar PRIVATE.
- Create a Shared Calendar
Click on the plus sign next to Calendars on the left-hand side of the page. Name your calendar and pick a color. Select Share all details and pick the people or groups with whom you will share your calendar. For example, you child’s class OR your child’s soccer team. Click DON’T SEND because you need to add events to your calendar. Only send after you have added the events to this calendar. After all events are added simply click change/share and follow through with sharing the calendar.
- Create a Community Calendar
Follow the same steps in creating a calendar. This time select Publish to Jooners Community Calendars. You will be asked to name the calendar and select a category for which it should be included. Once completed, the calendar will be published in the Community Calendar Section.
Add an Event
Select a calendar to which you will add event by clicking on the calendar name. This will highlight the calendar in which the event will be added with a long color bar. Click on the Add Event button OR double click directly on the calendar.
- Enter event name, time, and location.
- Make sure the event is being added to the right Calendar.
- Select Repeating events if your event repeats at a regular time.
- Select Reminders if you want to give your self a reminder.
Create an Invitation
Simply Add an Event like above, only before saving click the invite guests tab at the top of
the box.
- Choose from your people or groups OR hand enter people to whom you are inviting.
- Create a personalized message and Preview the invitation.
- Send the invitation when you are ready to invite your guests.
- Check your response by opening your invitation from the Open Invitation link onthe left-hand side of the page or by clicking on the event.
Community Calendars
Review all of the great community calendar data to find out when things are happening in the area.
Find your school district calendar listed under Young Kids/Schools. Simply click Show on My
Calendar. Now you can see the district holidays for the year! Find other local events like games and
museum exhibits that you would like to attend.
- Pick an Event from a Community Calendar
Simply select an event from a community calendar and change the calendar to your own within the event dialog box. This event will now appear on your calendar.
Lists
- Create a List
Simply click the plus sign
next to lists. Name your new list.
Select your list on the left navigation bar.
Type in your list items and click enter.
- Send your List
To send a list to people, simply click on Send. You will have a chance to choose people or
groups. You can also add an email in directly.
- Request Sign-Ups
To send a list asking for sign-ups, simply click on
. Anyone you send this list to will have the chance to sign up and everyone is working off the same list. You can check the list periodically to see if all items are taken!
- Just Keep for yourself
Keep a list for yourself – print it or just check it twice…
Scribbles
- Send a quick reminder to yourself or others.
- Write a short message and click enter.
- Click send and select from your people and groups. You can either send as a text message or to someone’s email.
My Love Ones
Organize an emergency card for kids, parents or pets to hand off to sitters, teachers and camps.
Resources
Find tried and trusted resources used and reviewed by other Jooners. Non-chemical carpet cleaner? Where to recycle computers? Who repairs screen doors? Best pediatrician around? When you enter contacts into My Resources, you’ll have the “one-click” option of sharing them with the rest of the Jooners community!
In the Know
Ask a specific question to the community or pick a category and see what questions have been asked and answered. Why is my daughter biting her best friend? What are schools doing about bullying? Who has a recipe that I can use for all the lemons growing in my yard? This is a great place to get information from others in the area.
